Time Time – An insight into the Dissolution of Time
Kamile Gallery is pleased to present Time Time – Michael Doherty’s solo exhibition introducing audiences to the concept of the dissolution of time. In this space there is no past, no present nor future, simply existence itself. The dwelling space of the Akashic records, all the energies of the Cosmos existing since the beginning of creation converge. Here the energies, ideals and philosophies of the magnificent Ancients, Old Masters and Modern Artists echo, the concept of time meaningless. Inspirations from Michelangelo’s David, Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night and Artemisia Gentileschi’s Judith Slaying Holofernes freely flow. Through the practise of meditation, dreams and a keen inquisitorial mind, Michael Doherty has an innate ability to quieten the daily noise and access this remarkable space. As like attracts like, the energies of these Ancients, Old and Modern Masters gravitate towards Michael and a magnificent Cosmic Energy flows through him manifesting onto the canvas. Through the artworks the viewer is given a rare glimpse into this Cosmic Space where Michael welcomes these energies on his artistic journey.
The works are bewildering to the beholder as the layers in the artworks draw the viewer in to closely navigate the canvas. Michael’s work with light gives a heavenly quality to his works as the eye searches the canvas chasing the energy one feels bouncing off the artwork.
Michael’s extraordinary work is unpretentious, thought provoking and explores an alternative to a worldly reality that is rarely contemplated by the individual. Time Time transports the viewer to a space where daily constraints of time and everyday life cease to exist, a space that is timeless, a space where there has been a Dissolution of Time.
