On a casual Saturday afternoon art lovers and interiors designers gathered at Loam Interiors in Claremont to join a discussion between artist Caspar Fairhall, Gallerist Kamile Burinskaite and myself. I have followed Caspar for some years and have enjoyed watching his practice evolve.
Of particular interest was his study of the Ancient Chinese text the Dao de Jing and the influence this text has had on his perception of space and time and how this influence has translated to his works.
The afternoon was enhanced by the participation of the audience with questions, opinions and comments as well as being able to view a retrospective of Caspar's works in situ rather than in a more formal gallery setting.
